I’ve Got A Thing For Stargate

When the movie Stargate came out, I went and saw it. I thought it was pretty cool at the time. Later I bought the movie (on Laserdisc no less) to keep. But I really hadn’t watched it in years.

But recently, I started to get sucked into the two Stargate series that are running (SG-1 and Atlantis). I originally started on Atlantis, the newer of the two, but lately I’ve been watching lots of SG-1 and really enjoying it as well (actually, more). The sad part is that I never watched the series when it was originally on. I remember seeing mention of SG-1, but it was so long ago (about 9 years apparently) and never really knew the series was even there. At the time I had thought SG-1 was a made for cable movie and that was that, but I never watched it.

But I’ve gotten so into it that I’ve been buying each season and watching it. I’ve watched all of season 1 of Atlantis, and I’m now up to season 4 of SG-1. I watch like 2 or 3 a night on average, and I think it might be time for an intervention But seriously, I really enjoy it. I like the humor and the whole notion of aliens posing as our ancient gods that made the original Movie so enjoyable. I also like the references to other sci-fi series like Star Trek or the like. I also remember the McGuyver reference in the first episode of SG-1.
